Hepatitis C ‘Assembly Champions’ group established in Wales

The Hepatitis C Trust is marking World Hepatitis Day by announcing the formation of a cross-party group of supporters within the Welsh Assembly. The six Assembly Champions are committed to the elimination of hepatitis C and will work to ensure that the issue stays firmly on the political agenda. Working closely with The Hepatitis C Trust, patients and relevant experts, the Assembly Champions will seek to represent the best interests of people with hepatitis C in Wales.
The Assembly Champions are:

There has been encouraging progress in tackling hepatitis C in Wales in recent years. With a national Liver Disease Delivery Plan in place, a dedicated clinical community, and a host of organisations and bodies committed to tackling the virus, Wales is well-placed to capitalise on the opportunities afforded by the new treatments, and to ensure that the virus is eliminated by 2030. The Hepatitis C Trust look forward to working with the Assembly Champions to continue the political mometum towards elimination.
