Here’s some of the events taking place around the country to mark World Hepatitis Day:
Carlisle – Unity, Drug and Alcohol Service will be raising awareness on the day.
Coventry – Addaction will be running a hepatitis C awareness afternoon on 27th July.
Cumberland – Hepatology nurses at Cumberland Infirmary will be raising awareness at the hospital and also at drug services throughout the area.
Dorset – The NHS Dorset Liver Team are running free screening and information events at three different locations. On World Hepatitis Day they will be at Sovereign Shopping Centre, Boscombe, with a Health Bus, 600 Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, BH1 4SX – 9am to 4pm.
Glasgow – A national photography and art exhibition will be running from the 18th, 19th and 28th July at the Gallery of Modern Art in Glasgow.
Hastings – Thrift House Substance Misuse Service are having a lunch and their local hepatitis C specialist nurse will be running an outreach clinic on the day for service users.
London
The Hep C Trust are holding a free conference – see here for details.
Turning Point will running awareness sessions at 3 of their drug and alcohol services across West London.
Waltham Forest Council’s Public Health team willoffer free, confidential screening in various locations around the borough. People who live, work or study in the area can take advantage of the free service by dropping in to any of the following sessions:
YMCA Forest Road – Friday 28 July 2017, 11.30am to 6.30pm
Residents Annual day at George Monoux – Saturday 29 July, 11am to 4pm
CGL- 1 Beulah Road – Thursday 3 August , 11am to 4pm

Portsmouth – Nurses from the Queen Alexandra hospital are holding an awareness raising day.
York – York Teaching Hospital will have a stand staffed by their hepatology nurses on the day to raise awareness to both staff and patients.
PRISONS
HMP Barlinnie will be having an awareness raising day.
HMP Belmarsh are running a recovery community group on Monday 24th July to raise awareness of hepatitis led by a team of peer mentors.
HMP Forest Bank are running a hepatitis C awareness day.
HMP Pentonville are planning to run outreach clinics on the wings throughout 25th July so that all prisoners are able to approach staff to discuss/gain information during their association time. There will also be a peer-to-peer talk by Eddie from The Hepatitis C Trust.
HMP Wandsworth are planning an event on the 24th July.
