EAST LANCS & SOUTH CUMBRIA HCC PEER SUPPORT LEAD

Salary: £26,500

Location: East Lancashire & South Cumbria

Contract: 12-month fixed term contract (with possible extension)

37.5 hrs per week, 25 days’ annual leave + additional Christmas leave

Closing date: December 17, 2023

Are you looking for a new Challenge?

Do you have experience of working with people who are homeless, using drugs or using alcohol?

Do you have relevant lived experience? This might be problematic alcohol use, injecting drug use, viral hepatitis or other liver disease. Have you supported anyone who has?

We are looking for passionate, skilled and self-motivated individuals who like to be part of a team but equally can work on their own. The post holders must have a desire to make a difference in promoting liver health among services and affected communities and by increasing access to treatments or ongoing liver disease care.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a new project, within an existing team, across the East Lancashire and South Cumbria area.

We are a patient-led organisation, and you will be working in an environment where the patient/service user/client is placed at the centre of all that you do. This post will require extensive travel across the region.

Cirrhosis is the main risk factor for liver cancer or hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The aim of the HCC mobile outreach service is to target people at risk of HCC in high prevalence areas, hard to reach groups, people who are homeless, using drugs or using alcohol (currently and previously) and deliver liver screening services directly into their community. This will increase early diagnosis of liver disease, especially in people unaware of risk factors or deterred by stigma, and support engagement of people who have been diagnosed but not accessed care.

Please download the documents below for the application form and more information about the project. Please send completed applications to admin@hepctrust.org.uk
