In October 2023, HCV Action hosted a roundtable meeting, chaired by Professor Kevin Fenton CBE, who serves as Regional Director for London in the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID), President of the UK Faculty of Public Health, Statutory Advisor to the Mayor of London, Chair of Fast Track Cities London, and Chair of the HIV Action Plan Implementation Steering Group. The meeting brought together around 30 senior stakeholders from relevant bodies.
The aim of the roundtable was to drive discussion and action around the key elements required of health systems to maintain hepatitis C elimination in England. Discussion at the roundtable was organised to focus on four key areas: Prevention; Testing; Surveillance and Oversight; and Commissioning of Treatment and Care.
This report includes a summary of the discussions that took place at the roundtable, including, conclusions, recommendations, and next steps.
