The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment, for people living with hepatitis C.
Do you have experience of working in drug services and with volunteers? Have you been affected by hepatitis C or have you supported anyone with hepatitis C? Do you have experience of providing outreach services to underserved communities?
We are looking for a passionate and skilled practitioner who has excellent communication and organisational skills to be responsible for the operational management of the mobile outreach van. This role will involve targeted testing, increasing access to, and supporting delivering of hepatitis C care across community settings.
We welcome creativity and innovation in all our work. For this role, we require the post holder to have a full, clean driving licence and to be able to work flexibly, according to service need.
Working under the guidance of the Peer Programme Manager, this post will coordinate the mobile outreach service to target hepatitis C high prevalence areas of at-risk and hard to reach groups, as well as deliver services directly into the community and support engagement of people who have been diagnosed but not yet accessed care.
