Would you like to join a small and passionate helpline team to provide support and information to a wide range of people both infected or affected by hepatitis C – in particular, to those who received infected blood/or blood products?
Our helpline has been in operation for 20 years, providing a warm and trusted resource for people affected by hepatitis C, as well as answering general queries from the general public, medical and other professionals.
We are looking for someone with a warm, compassionate and patient approach, able to adapt easily, to provide not only emotional but also practical support to a wide range of callers, including those just diagnosed, and many others who will have experienced long-term trauma, stigma and adversity as a result of they/or their family members’ infection.
Following the conclusion of the Infected Blood Inquiry in May 2024, and the recent formation of the Infected Blood Compensation Authority (IBCA), we would particularly welcome someone from the infected blood community with personal experience to assist us with this often highly sensitive work.
In addition, you will also need to be able to provide practical support and clear information to assist this community to navigate and access the financial support and compensation available to them.
Please download the documents below for the application form and more information about the project. Please send completed applications to admin@hepctrust.org.uk
