The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment, for people living with hepatitis C.
Do you have experience of driving vans and travelling long distances? Do you have experience of working with people with substance misuse issues? Have you been affected by hepatitis C or have you supported anyone who has hepatitis C? We are looking for a passionate and skilled van driver who has excellent communication and organisational skills. We require a good standard of education and welcome creativity and innovation in all our work.
Working under the guidance of the Lancs and S. Cumbria Peer Programme Manager (PPM), this post will support the delivery of the mobile clinic within the Lancs and S. Cumbria ODN. Working in partnership with hepatitis C clinical teams, drug and alcohol services and homeless service providers, the post will require the support of daily mobile outreach clinics. You will be supporting patients to and from the van, as they see the nursing teams.
This post will require lead responsibility for driving the Mobile Van and extensive travel across the region. The clinical van is based in Accrington Hospital and will need to be picked up and dropped off there daily. It is preferable that the post holder holds a clean, current driving licence.
