Andy Burnham has now been elected as MP for Makerfield. He has supported the infected blood community for many years, so now is our chance to ask him to finish the fight for justice.
We are making a book of handwritten letters from people affected by the infected blood scandal to give to Andy. We will send this book to him to ask him to help us right the many wrongs in the infected blood compensation scheme and to finally deliver justice for those infected and affected.
We need to be honest – we cannot promise this will work and it may not change the compensation scheme. But we want to give it our best shot.
What we are asking you to do
Please write a handwritten letter to Andy Burnham asking him to help the infected blood community.
You could write about:
what happened to you or your family
- how infected blood has affected your life
- what the delays have meant for you
- what still needs to change
- what fair compensation would mean to you
- what you want Andy Burnham to understand
A few lines is more than enough. Please only share what you feel comfortable sharing.
