Infected blood community
Support group

What is the Infected Blood Community Support Group?
This online support group was set up to help everyone in the infected blood community to connect and share their thoughts and feelings around the impact of the Infected Blood Inquiry.
It is a safe space to raise any concerns or questions about accessing the payment support schemes, general health concerns, or anything relating to the contaminated blood scandal.
The sessions are hosted by Samantha May and Susan Stretch from The Hepatitis C Trust Helpline and Information Support Service and Michelle Tolley from the Contaminated Whole Blood UK Facebook group.
All of the group taking part in the meeting were extremely open and friendly. I felt very much at ease participating because we are all in the same situation.
Who can join the Infected Blood Community Support Group?
Anyone who contracted hepatitis C or HIV via blood transfusion or blood products is welcome. Family members and friends who have been affected are also encouraged to take part.
Spaces are limited to 12 participants in each session and take place online via Zoom.
These spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. People who have not attended the group before will be prioritised.
