Infected Blood Inquiry update on hearings

2 February 2022

The Infected Blood Inquiry team have published the timetable for upcoming February hearings on blood transfusion policy and practice here. All February dates will be held remotely and can be viewed on the Inquiry YouTube channel.

The Inquiry has also published timetables for March, as well as an indicative timetable of hearings until the end of 2022, all of which can be found on the above link. From May, evidence will be taken on the response of governments, transparency, vCJD and from Sir Robert Francis on his compensation framework study.

Deadline for initial written submissions about recommendations

The inquiry has also set a deadline of 20 June 2022 for initial written submissions about recommendations other than compensation from the recognised legal representatives of core participants and unrepresented core participants, which will inform whether further evidence is needed on potential recommendations.

For more information on all of these updates, see the Infected Blood Inquiry website.

If we can be a source of information or support on any of the issues raised by the Infected Blood Inquiry, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us on our helpline, 020 7089 6221 or by email to helpline@hepctrust.org.uk.
