All at The Hepatitis C Trust are saddened to learn of the untimely death of David Stuart.
David did invaluable work in raising awareness of the risks of blood-borne virus transmission among people engaging in chemsex (sexual activity involving the use of certain drugs, including methamphetamine, mephedrone and GHB/GBL). His support for this cohort undoubtedly saved many lives and prevented many more from severe ill health.
David’s expert testimony was an extremely valuable contribution to the hepatitis C elimination inquiry The Hepatitis C Trust ran with the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Liver Health in 2017-18, casting light on the specific considerations around hepatitis C among men who have sex with men.
The thoughts of all at The Hepatitis C Trust are with David’s family and friends.
