All at The Hepatitis C Trust are horrified to hear the news about Sir David Amess. We worked closely with Sir David over many years through the APPG on Liver Health, which he always chaired in his signature courteous and gregarious style.
Sir David was a powerful advocate for hepatitis C patients in Parliament. His closing words from a debate on hepatitis C in June 2018 below are testament to the man – generous and optimistic. Our thoughts are with Sir David’s loved ones.
“It has been a great privilege to learn one or two things from other colleagues with more expertise in this field than I have. In every sense, this debate has been time well spent, and I am very, very optimistic about the future progress towards eliminating hepatitis C.”
