Sir Robert Francis QC was recently appointed by the UK Government to undertake an independent study, looking at options for a framework for compensation for the victims of the infected blood tragedy.
He is currently consulting on the suggested terms of reference and scope of the study, in order to determine what the study should cover.
The study is different to the Infected Blood Inquiry, although it will take account of evidence heard and published by the Inquiry.
You can find more information about the study, and its suggested scope here.
Sir Robert is keen receive to hear from people directly affected by infected blood. Comments on the suggested scope of the inquiry before 26th July 2021. Submissions can be sent to Sir Robert via ibcompframeworkstudy@cabinetoffice.gov.uk.
