The Hepatitis C Trust’s CEO Rachel Halford joined the panel for a HCV Action webinar on hepatitis C services during and beyond Covid-19 last week (Thursday 18th June).
During the event, Rachel provided an overview of The Hepatitis C Trust’s activity during the Covid-19 outbreak. This has included providing awareness-raising materials on Covid-19 for people at risk of hepatitis C, delivering medication and food parcels to hepatitis C patients, and providing telephone support to people at risk of or affected by hepatitis C. The Trust’s peer support staff and volunteers have also been an integral part of projects to offer hepatitis C testing to homeless individuals being accommodated in hotels and hostels across the country.
The event also featured updates from Mark Gillyon-Powell (Head of Programme, HCV Elimination at NHS England & NHS Improvement), Dr Steve Ryder (Chair of HCV Action and Clinical Lead for the Nottingham Hepatitis C Operational Delivery Network) and Tracey Kemp (National Hepatitis C Strategy Lead at Change Grow Live).
Following updates from each of the speakers, the panel answered questions from members of the audience. The full webinar can be viewed here and a summary report is available here.
