Over the last few years, The Hepatitis C Trust has heard of many hepatitis C support groups around the UK closing down. During the last 6 months in particular, we have also seen attendance at our groups decline greatly. Whilst this is positive and reflects that with the advent of new treatments many people are finding their journey with hepatitis C much easier to navigate and manage, it is also with a mixture of sadness that – after 13 years of running a wide variety of different groups here at The Trust – we have taken the decision to close ours, at least for the near future.
We will of course continue to provide much needed support and information to patients, professionals and the general public on our national helpline via phone, e-mail and through our Facebook page. And for those who may still prefer to have face to face contact with us to discuss their concerns about hepatitis C, (in the absence of the support group), we will now offer the opportunity to meet, by appointment only, with a member of the helpline team at our London office.
The final support group will be held on Monday, January 15th 2018, from 6pm to 7.45pm and very much hope you can join us at our office to say goodbye, reflect, and celebrate just how far we have all come.
