Information
On May 19th 2008, the first ever World Hepatitis Day, The Hepatitis C Trust is going to revolutionise the way film distribution is carried out in the UK. Our aim is to get a quarter of a million people to watch Gemma Peppé’s documentary ‘Louie, Me & Hepatitis C’ in one night. The film follows Gemma over the year of her treatment and charts the effect it has on her relationship
with her son Louie. The film is explicit in it’s depiction of what an aggressive drugs treatment is like for a patient and also explores the stories of a number of other patients as well as examining what the government and the NHS are doing about the growing numbers of hepatitis C cases.
The Hepatitis C Trust intends to use our network of GPs, nurses, healthcare workers and patients to urge them to take part in this unique event for World Hepatitis Day by pledging to hold house parties and screen the film to around 20 of their friends. To be part of this unique event and to do your bit to raise awareness for hepatitis C email gemma.peppe@hepctrust.org.uk.
If we manage to recruit enough people to take part in this it will become a major news story as nothing like this has ever been done in the UK.
