Health Protection Scotland (HPS) reports data on hepatitis C diagnosis

This HPS Weekly Report presents data, to September 2006, on laboratory reports of hepatitis C virus (HCV) diagnoses made in Scotland. During July to September 2006, 396 new cases of HCV antibody positivity were diagnosed. This figure compares with 390 and 340 for the third quarter of 2004 and 2005, respectively. The cumulative number of HCV diagnoses is now 21678, of whom 12% are known to have died. click here to read the report - pages 32-37 for hepatitis C infections
