Although it’s been more than 20 years since a test was developed for hepatitis C, the majority of people who have the virus in the UK are still undiagnosed. Innovative approaches are urgently needed to begin to address this and the Trust works all over the UK to develop and improve testing provision, as well as delivering some services directly.
We work mostly with partners including local health services, prisons, drug service providers, local authorities and GPs as well as with other voluntary sector organisations and community groups to increase and improve testing and awareness. We also provide tailored training to support testing projects and services, including the basics of hepatitis C and pre- and post-test discussion.
