Victrelis (Boceprevir) approved for NHS use in Scotland

The Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) has completed its assessment of Victrelis (Boceprevir) and advises NHS Boards and Area Drug and Therapeutic Committees (ADTCs) on its use in Scotland.

This means that Victrelis is now available on the NHS in Scotland, patients in England will still have to wait for the NICE review early next year.

Two seperate reviews have been passed, one for treatment naive patients (those who have never attempted treatment) and one for treatment experienced patients (those whose previous treatment has failed).
