Our campaigns

The Hepatitis C Trust campaigns for improvements in hepatitis C risk-awareness, testing, diagnosis, treatment and patient support. We educate the public, the healthcare profession and politicians about hepatitis C. Our policy and public affairs team work hard to develop patient-centred solutions and communicate them to decision-makers – and we need your help!

Testing bus 2010

Your voice as a hepatitis C patient is crucial to making policy decision-makers fully understand the issues around hepatitis C and the need for effective solutions. The louder the patient voice the more chance we have of successfully improving services.

Shabana Parliament

Please help us by letting your elected representatives know about your experiences as a hepatitis C patient and what you need them to do to improve services.

Please write to or meet your local MP, Welsh Assembly Member, Member of the Scottish Parliament or Northern Irish Assembly Member.

Your MP can help raise awareness about hepatitis C in Parliament and with your local health services by:

  • Joining the All Party Parliamentary Group for Hepatology (ask them to contact becky.hug@hepctrust.org.uk to register)
  • Signing the Parliamentary Early Day Motion 119, ‘Hepatitis C Trust’s Get Tested Campaign’
  • Writing to the Chief Executive of your local health service to ask what action they are taking to increase hepatitis C diagnosis rates and to improve services and support for patients in the area
  • Writing to the Public Health Minister, Anne Milton, to ask her to ensure that addressing hepatitis C is a major component of the National Liver Strategy that is being developed

If lots of patients raise these key issues, we can really make a difference.
